Owing to the fact that extremely cold weather had prevailed in this locality accompanied by heavy snow fall and much ice, before our arrival here, this Pulp had frozen, and also had done a part of the baled Pulp which was stowed in the Shed.
We have been told that similar occurrences were recently experienced on the other ship, and seeing actual condition of melting of this commodity in the Ship’s Hold, we are under the impression that in the present condition of nature of the contents and method of packing, it seems difficult for us to prevent a recurrence of damage unless the packing thereof be improved.
I request you, please, note the actual situation and circumstances as mentioned above for your reference in case the shipment turns out unsatisfactory to the Consignees at the port of discharge.
